Toppling over, teetering, out of balance, made from old mattresses and foam cushions, disintegrating from use; a material without memory.

They are comical, absurd, but also strangely moving, funny and awkward, referencing slapstick: Laurel and Hardy tottering, falling over.

The softness, porousness has a spine though: an iron rod keeping them together, but also piercing, hurting.
